Welcome to Sit Happens!

A new clothing brand based in Swansea. 

How did it start?

The brand was born during a car journey from Holyhead to Dublin. Travelling in the car and arriving at the port when I was told that because I am a wheelchair user I needed to board in a specific place. Turns out to get there, we had to go into the "Premium" lane. A free upgrade? Don't mind if I do. I looked to my passenger and said "Why pay for premium when you can be disabled for free!"

This phrase became a recurring joke which I often said I'd love to have on a t-shirt. Fast forward a few months and I took the plunge, did the designs and started Sit Happens. 

What is our mission?

I knew immediately that I wanted to dedicate the brand to making things specifically for disabled people like me. I see so many funny t-shirts and hoodies around but they never make jokes about life as a disabled person. It's understandable but our community is huge and surely I'm not the only one that will make jokes at my own expense?! 

I turn everyday phrases and comments that I hear as a wheelchair user and turn them into fun designs that we can use to celebrate life as disabled people. Is it hard to be disabled? Yes of course! But it can be fun too!
